Sanctuary-WoW

Type: World of Warcraft Private Server
Website: sanctuary-wow.com
Tagline: "A roleplaying realm where you hear the people standing near you, and nobody knows your name until you tell them."

Sanctuary-WoW is a roleplaying realm on the Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a client that rebuilds how players meet each other. Voice is positional, so you hear the people standing near you, and names stay hidden until a character chooses to share one, with strangers shown by descriptions such as "the Hooded Orc." PvP is consent-based, and law is handled by appointed lawmen whose arrests and shackling play out as roleplay rather than as timers. Donations only cover server costs and give no in-game benefit, which makes it a fit for roleplayers who want systems built for immersion instead of progression.
