xMU Online is a long-running MU Online project that reaches its fifth anniversary in September 2026, and it has spent that time running several realms at different speeds rather than chasing one audience. The current home realm is x1 Glory, a low-rate server that opened in April 2025 for players who want resets to mean something, and the faster x20 Legendary realm is being folded into it. A new x5 realm is scheduled to open on the anniversary date itself. The technical work is unusually visible for a MU server: the client lets you pick its architecture, the camera is 3D with an adjustable view range, and the team runs dedicated network tunnels and a custom HTTPS proxy so that players connecting from the Americas are not left with unplayable latency.

Multiple Rate Tiers: The project runs realms at different speeds at once, so a x1 grinder and a x5 player are not forced onto the same economy.
Realm Merge with Transfer Rules: Characters moving from x20 Legendary into x1 Glory need a minimum of 30 resets, which keeps the merge from flooding the low-rate economy.
Skill Buff Cap: Player skill buffs are capped at 60 seconds, a deliberate balance change against permanent stacked buffs.
3D Camera: The camera is 3D with an adjustable view range rather than the fixed isometric view MU ships with.
Client Architecture Choice: Players can select the architecture the game client runs as, which helps on older and newer machines alike.
Regional Tunnels: Dedicated network tunnels serve connections from the Americas, and a custom HTTPS proxy is available for restricted networks.
Illusion Temple: The Illusion Temple event runs with its own server-side mechanics.
Mini Kundun: Mini Kundun encounters are part of the regular event rotation.
In-Game Market: Trading runs through an in-game market rather than being confined to shouting in town.
Multi-Shot and Repair: Multi-shot and item repair systems are implemented server side.
