Velheim is a Pre-EoC RuneScape private server that has been running continuously since 2018. It is built on the 718 client revision, so the combat model and the interfaces are the pre Evolution of Combat ones that players left RuneScape over, but the content on top of them is current: RS3 material up to revision 926, including skills such as Archaeology, Invention and Divination that never existed in the pre EoC era. The team tracks official Jagex updates closely and has a record of deploying new content within days of the original release.

The design position is unusually strict for a private server. There are no custom items and no pay to win shop, which means the gear list is the RuneScape gear list and progression cannot be bought. That stance is the reason the Grand Exchange matters here: prices move on real supply and demand rather than on shop injection, and it runs alongside more than 400 original RuneScape shops.

Two worlds are available, a Fresh Start world for new arrivals and a Legacy world for long standing characters, so a newcomer is not dropped into an economy that has been running for years unless they choose to be. Across both, seven game modes cover everything from a near authentic x2 pace to a x200 sprint, each with its own drop rate treatment.
