Tirisgarde is a World of Warcraft project that runs its own custom progressive realms rather than a straight recreation of a retail patch. Its Burning Crusade realm, Zul'aman, is built on client 2.4.3 and is reached through the realmlist za.tirisgarde.org or tbc.tirisgarde.org. Alongside it the project also runs custom content on the 3.3.5a Wrath of the Lich King client, and the team has said a further Wrath custom expansion realm is planned. The hardware was relocated to Western Europe on 2025/05/01, and the project keeps its own forums and Discord for player reports, patch discussion and community raffles.

Tirisgarde builds on top of the 2.4.3 Burning Crusade content rather than freezing it. Azshara Crater has been opened to every player by default and reworked into a starter gear progression zone, so a fresh character has somewhere to gear up before stepping into the custom tiers. Beyond that the realm adds heroic versions of raids that were never heroic on retail, plus a set of custom quests and infused items that only exist here.

Custom raid tiers: The progression list runs through Worlds End, Blackrock Depths, Scarlet Monastery, Onyxia's Lair, Void Hold, Ragnaros, Guthrot's Lab and Blackwing Hold, rebuilt as tiered raid content rather than left as their retail versions.
Heroic reworks: Onyxia's Lair and Blackwing Hold have heroic modes that add extra bosses and extra loot on top of the normal clear.
Azshara Crater starter zone: The unfinished retail zone is enabled for everyone and used as the entry point for starter gear progression.
Custom quests and infused items: The team writes its own quests and its own infused item tier instead of reusing the retail reward tables.
Community raffles: The Discord runs raffles in which gift tokens are redeemed for a guaranteed item of epic, legendary or artifact quality for the winner and a friend.
Own forums: tirisgarde.org hosts the project's forums for player reports, suggestions and patch discussion.
