Citadel is a semi custom RuneScape private server that keeps Old School combat and pacing at its core and layers its own progression systems on top. The pitch is depth rather than speed: the enchant track, the equipment aura track and the pet skill trees all keep going long after the standard gear ceiling would normally stop a character. It carries the familiar Old School raid roster alongside encounters written for this server specifically, so a returning player has both known content and content they cannot have cleared before. Separate Ironman modes exist for players who want the self sufficient version of that climb.

Citadel is built on the Old School RuneScape era and lists itself in the semi custom category, meaning the base game stays recognisable while significant systems are original to the server. The interface is styled to match Old School RuneScape rather than departing from it.

Never ending enchant system: Around 90 percent of items in the game can be enchanted with powerful effects, and the track has no ceiling, so gear keeps improving past the normal endgame.
Equipment auras: Auras attach to equipment and can be upgraded to tier 10, each carrying its own effect.
Custom pets: The server has its own collectible pets that do not exist on other servers.
Pet skill trees: Pets carry a skill tree of their own that strengthens the character rather than only following them around.
Raid roster: Chambers of Xeric, Theatre of Blood, Tombs of Amascut, Xeric Challenge Mode and The Crypts are all available.
Custom bosses: Encounters written for Citadel include Tekko the Wretched and the Void Boss.
Wilderness PvP: Open player versus player combat is concentrated in the wilderness, in the Old School style.
In game gambling: A gambling system is available in game.
Double experience weekends: The server runs recurring double experience weekends.
