SWG Sunrunner II is a Pre-CU Star Wars Galaxies server built on the SWGEmu codebase, which means the profession and skill structure players remember from the game's first years is what you log into. Where it departs from a straight emulation project is scope, because the team has pulled in content that originally shipped with the later expansions and then added a large body of original work on top of it, covering planets, species, creatures, loot, weapons, armor and player housing. The result is a sandbox that starts from the launch era ruleset and keeps growing outward instead of freezing at a single patch. New content is published on a continuing basis rather than in one large drop, and the server maintains its own change list and patch notes so that every addition is written down.

The server runs Pre-CU rules on SWGEmu code, so character advancement follows the original skill tree rather than the class system introduced with the New Game Enhancements. Players are not locked into a fixed class and can build across professions the way the original game allowed.

New Planets: The server adds 11 entirely new planets, among them Coruscant, Nal Hutta and Tanaab, none of which were playable worlds in the live game.
Rebuilt Expansion Worlds: Kashyyyk and Mustafar have been rebuilt for the server rather than dropped in unchanged from the expansion content.
Space Stations: Nova Orion and Tansarii Point are both reachable in space.
Expanded Species Roster: New playable species are available alongside the ten from the live game, including Aqualish, Bith, Chiss, Nautolan, Quarren, Gotal, Gran, Ishi Tib, Nikto and Weequay, each carrying its own species modifiers.
Original Content: New weapons, armor, loot, creatures and player housing have been added beyond what shipped with the original game and its expansions.
Sandbox Focus: Development leans into the sandbox side of Star Wars Galaxies, treating crafting, housing and player driven activity as primary content rather than side systems.
Documented Development: A full change list and patch notes are published on the server's own site, with further major releases described as in progress.
