Maelstrom opened on 9 June 2026 as a progressive realm run by Millenium Servers, and progressive here means the full arc rather than a single expansion. Characters start at level 1 and advance with the realm through Classic, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, finishing at the Ruby Sanctum. It is currently in Phase 3 with the level cap at 39. The rate structure is the part worth reading twice: levelling is the only thing accelerated, and only by the player's own choice.
