Forgotten World is a Sphere-based Ultima Online shard built on three systems the team develops separately: an old-school PvP system, an evolving PvM system, and a new crafting system. The Sphere emulator choice puts it outside the RunUO and ServUO mainstream, which is why the mechanics feel different from most modern shards. Recent development has gone into the city guard, which now responds faster to calls for help and automatically defends new players attacked in a guard zone, provided they are not criminals or murderers themselves. It holds a 24 hour peak of 36 online across a Discord of 929 members.

Protective City Guard: Guards automatically defend new players attacked in a guard zone, as long as the newcomer is not a criminal or murderer. New-player safety is enforced by mechanics rather than by moderation.
Faster Guard Response: The guard system was reworked to respond more quickly to calls for help.
Battleground Tickets: Tickets drop from treasure maps and SOS sea treasures, granting five minutes of access to a special dungeon.
