Ascarus is an Open Tibia server built on the 8.6 client with a large layer of custom content sitting on top of the classic map. Rather than publishing a flat experience multiplier, it uses a reworked stage system where the rate declines gradually with every level instead of dropping off sharply at fixed thresholds, which smooths out the mid game. PvP is regulated by a full skull and frag system rather than left wide open, and the server pairs that with an anti-AFK check so unattended characters cannot farm. Most of the economy runs through player facing systems such as the item market and character auctions rather than through staff intervention.

Staged experience: The experience stage declines gradually with each level rather than dropping sharply at set levels, so progression stays smooth instead of hitting walls.
Skull and frag system: Protection level is 80, PZ lock runs 45 seconds, and white, red and black skulls last 5 minutes, 1 day and 2 days respectively, with daily frag thresholds of 25 for red and 50 for black.
Task systems: There is a daily task system, a progressive staged task system, and a set of special tasks handed out by NPC Eruaran.
Item market and character auctions: Players trade through an in game item market and can put whole characters up for auction.
Bounty hunters: A bounty system lets players place and collect rewards on other players.
Anti-AFK: The server asks a math question to confirm that a player is actually at the keyboard.
Housing: Houses can be bought from level 200, and can then be sold on to other players or left ownerless.
Offline messaging: From level 180 a character can receive offline messages, up to 75 stored at a time.
Guild wars and battles: Guilds can declare wars and fight scheduled battles against each other.
Custom content: The server adds custom cities, a rewritten raid system, enchantable magic items, outfit addon dolls, and achievement tracking with weekly rewards for the top achievers and fraggers.
