Server Overview
Stonetavern runs World of Warcraft 1.12, kept exactly as it shipped, with no rate changes, no custom content, no transmog, no Vanilla plus and no shop, ever. The team calls it a museum, not a remix: only invisible bugfixes and a little quiet account comfort are added, and nothing that touches how the game plays. The lantern is lit and the door is open, the world is still dangerous, the road still long, and the people at the next table remember it too. This listing covers Elwynn, a faithful Normal PvE realm. The server is hosted in the EU and run as a non commercial project.
Expansion & Content
Elwynn stays on patch 1.12, with raids that open one at a time from Molten Core through Naxxramas. One account works on both Stonetavern realms. The second realm, Barrens, is a progressive realm that moves through Classic, then The Burning Crusade, then Wrath of the Lich King together, and is listed separately.

Nothing for Sale: There is no store, no supporter tier and no advantage for money, donations are voluntary and change nothing in the game, and the team says that with no money in the system the failure modes that quietly kill other private servers cannot happen here.
Human Reviewed Bans: Bots get nothing and suspicious activity is watched around the clock, but a human makes every single ban, so no account is ever lost to an automatic decision.
Cross Faction Play: The Elwynn realm allows cross faction play.
One Account, Two Realms: A single account works on both Elwynn and the progressive Barrens realm.
Honest About the End: If Blizzard ever asks the team to stop, the server stops the same day and the team will do its best to hand players their character file, and it will never pretend to be forever.

Low pop/split community
The server owner opened up a second realm shortly after launching this server. It split the already extremely small community, into two even smaller ones. It was a super strange choice and the owner stated he would not do so originally. Pretty big red flag, but Vanilla server options are kind of limited right now. I would avoid playing here IMO before investing any time just for the server to change expansions.

small but really well made progressive vanilla server. active dev, lots of qol, level caps so you can actually keep up and no pay to win. feels like someone actually cares about the server instead of just keeping it online

Super fun so far!
Progressive server with level caps and will roll into later content. Awesome experience so far with lots of other friendly players doing groups, questing, farming, and dungeons.
