Varkath is an Old School RuneScape private server that has been running for over thirteen years, which puts it among the longest lived projects in the RSPS scene. The design goal the team states is breadth without the low effort feel: raids, slayer, wilderness PvP and skilling are all built out rather than listed, and bosses are scripted to 1:1 mechanics instead of simplified stand-ins. New accounts are pushed through a guided opening rather than dropped into an empty world, with a training dungeon, starter kits and a growth path that spells out what to do next. Long term progression is handled by perks and a prestige system layered on top of the normal skill curve, and the economy is unusual for the scene in that the server officially supports OSRS gold trading between players.

Prestige System: Non-combat skills can be maxed and reset up to 20 times, paying 1,000 prestige points per hour of skilling and 100M coins per prestige level.
Wilderness PvP: Bounty hunter targets, a player killing pot funded by charity well contributions, skull type toggles, and an Instant PK mode that hands new players a preset combat level and free supplies.
Tournaments: Player started PK tournaments with preset gear, live scoring and automatic Sunday payouts, plus weekly PvP, PvM and skilling contests that pay the top ten.
Duel Arena: Staking with no PID, duel resume on disconnect, custom weapon-only rules and spectatable matches.
OSRS Trading: The server officially supports trading OSRS gold between players, and tournament rewards can be converted into OSRS coins.
Player Owned Shops: A player to player shop system with item listing and price control runs alongside the main economy.
Gambling: Flower poker, blackjack, dicing and gambling challenges run through a system the team advertises as scam-proof, with a public history board.
Clue Scrolls: Over 150 treasure trail tasks with multiple puzzle types and more than 100 casket rewards.
Training Dungeon: A starter dungeon assigns 350 targets and pays up to 250M coins across the task, with special effects such as instant kills and invincibility.
In-Game AI Assistant: A CTRL+F assistant answers player questions and reports personal account progress.
Cosmetics and Interface: Nearly 200 custom titles across eight categories, item recolouring, up to 20 bank tabs and RuneLite integration.
