Vaelith is a heavily customized Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a project that is currently a closed alpha with 50 tester slots, and the team is explicit that it is not a launch yet. On the client side, 25 extension DLLs load on top of 3.3.5a to support modern model, terrain and world-object formats, modern texture compression and new UI primitives, and character select and creation were rebuilt. The world is Azeroth from level 1 to 60, cross-faction, with level and quest scaling across the whole range. Each character's specialisation, talents, skill tree, Wake, Knell and Soul Codex form one build string that can be written down and shared.

Daily Call-Board: 1,199 daily tasks cover slaying, gathering, crafting, questing, dungeons and elites.
Elite Variants: 95 elite variants make each elite a different fight, and outdoor bosses are spawned by a module.
Talent Trees: All 31 specialisations have talent trees, and every pet has its own talent tree with points from level 1.
Transmog Wardrobe: 706 sets, 1,919 distinct items and over 30,000 catalogued appearances.
Progression Systems: Prestige and paragon, heirlooms, login and level rewards, XP lock, item-level bands, PvP ranks, leaderboards and weekly seasons.
Escrow Trading: Two players can trade without trusting each other.
Gold Shop Only: The shop sells for in-game gold, and the team states there is no real-money store and nothing to buy.
Soul Codex: The next major system lets players take abilities from creatures they kill, with 17,642 species reachable and 5,919 distinct abilities.
Categorised Damage: 4,781 spells and 1,210 trait nodes are tagged with the damage types they belong to and modify.
