Aion Ultimate is a European Aion server on patch 4.8, the version most long running Aion projects settled on because it is the last build before the game's power curve broke away from the classic balance. Its structure is unusual for the version: rather than asking players to level through the 1 to 65 chain first, new characters start at level 65 with a complete starter package, so the whole server operates at endgame from the first login. That choice makes the PvP calendar the actual content, with ranked arenas, free for all battles, battlegrounds and scheduled events running alongside the instanced PvE. The team's stated aim is a mix of retail style 4.8 gameplay with custom PvP and PvE content layered on top rather than a pure blizzlike restore.
