PentaWar is a realm versus realm project built on Lineage 2, centred on a permanent war between five races for control of the game world. Instead of the usual clan against clan endgame, the map itself is the scoreboard: players capture and defend outposts, towns, fortresses and castles, and the borders between the five races shift as those fights are won and lost. On top of the territory war sit contests for world bosses and totems, which give the races objectives that pull them into each other outside of scheduled siege windows. Character progression, classes, equipment and the core progression systems have all been reworked for this format rather than carried across from retail, and each race has its own classes and traits. Because outcomes at scale depend on party composition and role allocation, teamwork decides more here than individual gear checks do.

Five-Race Realm War: A perpetual war between five races for control of the world map, with the race borders shifting as battles resolve.
Territory Capture: Outposts, towns, fortresses and castles are all capturable objectives rather than only scheduled set pieces.
World Bosses and Totems: Contested world bosses and totems give the races something to fight over between sieges.
Race-Specific Classes: Each race carries its own classes and traits instead of sharing one common roster.
Reworked Progression: Character progression, classes, equipment and the core progression systems were rebuilt for the realm war format.
Composition-Driven Combat: Party dynamics and role allocation decide large scale battles, which makes organised groups the unit that matters.
