The Crossroads is an Ultima Online shard built on the Mondain's Legacy era, running the full ML content set rather than a stripped-down subset, with selected quality of life enhancements pulled forward from later eras and a layer of the shard's own additions on top. Its competitive spine is the faction system, and the shard's design decisions point consistently at making faction conflict reachable rather than putting a grind wall in front of it, with faction artifacts obtainable for competitive play instead of gated behind extended farming. World events are scripted and fire on their own rather than being triggered at a staff member's discretion, which means the event calendar does not depend on who happens to be awake.
