Elysium Project is a Vanilla World of Warcraft project that runs its Nighthaven realm as a blizzlike x1 server, built on the core inherited from the original Nostalrius team. The stated goal is narrow and unusually strict: reproduce the 2004 to 2006 game as closely as the emulator allows, rather than layer custom content on top of it. Quests, spells, dungeon and raid scripting are tuned to behave the way they did at patch 1.12.1, and content is released in steps instead of being opened all at once. Players connect with any 1.12.1 client in any language, which keeps the barrier to entry low for the server's multilingual playerbase.
