How to Pick the Right Server
Start with the client version and progression rules: pre-Big Bang, post-Big Bang and custom servers can offer very different class and boss experiences.
- HP washing: is it required for your class and target bosses, optional, or replaced by another HP system? "No HP washing" should name the alternative. For example, YunaMS advertises v83 with custom content and HP from job advancements, a medal and a daily quest.
- Multiclient: check whether simultaneous clients, buff mules and leeching are allowed. A version number does not answer these questions.
- Voting and cash shop: read what NX, vote rewards and paid currency can buy. "No vote-to-win" and "no pay-to-win" need separate checks.
- Progression: compare EXP, meso and drop rates separately, alongside class changes and wipe policies.
Verify the rules for your intended class before downloading. A Discord activity count is a community signal, not an in-game player count.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these MapleStory figures measure in-game population?
No. Discord presence measures community activity. These article figures are a snapshot of each server’s recorded 24-hour peak, or latest reading when no peak is available. Separate server peaks are not a simultaneous population total, and users may belong to more than one community.
Are MapleStory private servers free?
Check each operator’s current registration, subscription and shop rules. A free download does not establish that every feature is free or that paid items are cosmetic only.
How many MapleStory private servers are there?
We currently track 25 MapleStory private servers with a total of 33,969+ community members. The number changes month to month as new servers launch and old ones close.
