SWG Restoration (Restoration III) is a hybrid server that reverse-engineers Star Wars Galaxies back toward Combat Upgrade (CU) mechanics while keeping the quality-of-life and content developed across the NGE era. The team frames it as an alternate timeline where the NGE patch never shipped and the Combat Upgrade kept evolving. It blends the open Pre-CU skill-point system with CU-era combat balance, on top of the NGE content foundation, giving it a distinctive "best of every era" identity. The server is free to play and under continuous active development with strong community involvement. Restoration is one of the more popular and modern-feeling SWG projects.
