Strange Earth is a family run Ultima Online shard aiming at what its staff describe as those old nostalgic moments but with new creature comforts. It runs the Time of Legends client with a large body of the team's own custom editions layered on top, and it documents all of it in a public wiki rather than leaving the ruleset to word of mouth. The shard soft launched in January 2022 and opened its beta to the public on 24 April 2022. On monetisation the staff are unambiguous, stating that pay to win will never tarnish the shard.

Strange Earth runs Time of Legends 7.0.88.1 plus the shard's own custom editions. The skill cap is set to 1080, which is nine grandmaster skills before equipment is counted, and equipment itself can add roughly one to three more grandmasters on top of that. The staff have said the 1080 figure came out of weeks of internal discussion about what that ceiling does to build variety, rather than being copied from another shard.

Skill Set System: A custom system that lets a player save and load full skill loadouts instead of retraining by hand.
Taming BoD: A bulk order deed system for taming, with custom tameable creatures added by the shard.
Seasonal Content: The shard rotates seasonal areas and content rather than leaving one static world in place.
Quest House: A quest hub sits north of the Luna bank, with a public portal system attached to it.
Community Buildings: A community run rune library and vendor house are maintained inside the shard by players.
No Pay-to-Win: The staff position, stated on the front page, is that pay to win will never be introduced.
