UO Traditions is a free Ultima Online shard that keeps the traditional Ultima feel while raising the ceilings that make classic era play restrictive. Characters get a 1200 point skill cap and each account can hold six of them, so a player can build broadly instead of being forced into a single narrow template. The shard runs its own lore, in which a shattered crystal produced parallel copies of Sosaria that each evolved differently, and that framing is what justifies the custom lands sitting alongside the familiar facets. Player versus player combat exists but is deliberately confined to one cursed realm, which is how the shard reconciles open world danger with its family friendly positioning.

The shard runs the main lands of Sosaria plus custom territory, with player versus player combat restricted to Tartarus, the transformed version of Felucca.

The curse of Tartarus: In Tartarus a standing curse allows other players to attack you for your loot, and that realm is the shard's only open PvP zone.
