MasterWoW is a World of Warcraft private server built around the haste playstyle rather than around blizzlike progression. The staff describe the project as the next generation of MasterWoW Legacy, carrying that older realm's fun and haste formula onto a new site and a new player base. Their own summary of the realm is that it offers a fun, haste experience with numerous retail models and new scripts to enhance your gameplay, which sets the expectation clearly: this is a custom fun realm and not a museum piece. The front page of the site is given over almost entirely to leaderboards for play time, votes, PvP kills and recent logins, so the realm publicly ranks its most active accounts rather than hiding activity behind a login.

The realm runs on the 3.3.5a client, Wrath of the Lich King, but the staff are explicit that they do not stop there. In their own words the server primarily focuses on the WotLK expansion but also incorporates a plethora of content from other expansions, so players should expect models, items and encounters pulled in from other WoW eras alongside the WotLK core. The staff also state that the server is based on the Haste Server and offers a wealth of custom features on top of it.
