Server Overview

Project Legacy is an independently developed Vanilla+ World of Warcraft server built on the 1.12 client, designed to expand on classic content without changing the original level cap or core game feel. The project adds hundreds of new lore-friendly quests in underused zones, a custom Guardian of Hyjal world boss encounter, and cross-faction grouping so Horde and Alliance players can group, guild, raid, and trade together. Beyond new content, it reworks several underperforming class specializations, including Retribution, Protection, Survival, Shadow, Elemental, and Balance, to make more playstyles viable without abandoning Vanilla's original class identity. The server opened its Open Beta on July 17, 2026 and has already crossed 1,000 registered accounts.

Promising new approach

I've been playing the server for a few days now and I must say it's really nice to be party of the early starting community. With the plans the administration has for it, this could be the new BiS thing! Cool peeps, small community where you actually get to know the folks and really balanced changes, patches with well-thought-out modifications, preserving vanilla quality and NOT THAT MANY GNOMES, YET! There's also a war mode, so PvP is also going to be a thing.
