Server Overview

City of Heroes is the classic NCsoft superhero MMORPG known for its costume creator, archetype variety, and team-based PvE across Paragon City. Sanctuary first launched as one of the early post-shutdown City of Heroes servers, building a respectable player base before it was repeatedly hacked and shut down indefinitely in 2021. After recovering data from a backup drive, the operator announced a revival in 2024, bringing the server and its custom content back. Sanctuary is documented and supported through the Maressa.net site, which also hosts City of Heroes guides and news.
