Stonetavern Barrens is a progressive World of Warcraft realm built around a single idea: nobody should level alone because they started a week late. A realm-wide level cap applies to every player at once and lifts for the whole server on the same day, so latecomers still find people to play with instead of arriving to an empty leveling zone. The realm is currently capped at level 30 running on patch 1.5 content, and it will climb step by step from Classic into The Burning Crusade and then Wrath of the Lich King, with each expansion running on its own real client rather than one engine imitating three. The project is non-commercial, EU-hosted, and has no cash shop of any kind, so nothing in the game can be bought with money.

The realm alternates between two states on a fixed schedule: three days as a PvE realm where players choose their own fights, followed by three days of open-world PvP in contested zones, with the switch happening for everyone at the same time at dawn after an announced restart. Horde and Alliance play on the same side here, sharing grouping, chat, the auction house and mail, and staying allied inside a shared group even during the war days.

Cross-Faction Play: Grouping, chat, the auction house and mail all work across the Horde and Alliance line, including during PvP weeks.
Scheduled PvE and PvP Cycle: The realm runs three days as PvE followed by three days of open-world PvP in contested zones, switching for everyone at the same time.
No Cash Shop: There is no store and no way to buy an advantage. Donations are voluntary and change nothing in the game.
Flat Respec Cost: Respeccing costs a flat one gold at an NPC located near dungeon entrances.
Sister Realm: The project also runs Elwynn, a separate realm that stays on Classic content, listed independently.
